Custom Holographic and Foil Packaging
Updated
Holographic and foil packaging uses metallic or light-shifting finishes, either as foil stamped onto selected areas or as a holographic material across the whole surface. Vorex makes custom foil and holographic boxes, bags and labels to your exact size for brands in the USA and Canada that want their packaging to catch the light.

There are two main ways to add metallic shine. Foil stamping uses heat and pressure to transfer a thin metallic or colored foil onto selected areas, such as a logo or border. Holographic or metallic materials cover the whole surface, using a metallized film laminated to board or a metallized bag film, so the entire package reflects light. Holographic finishes show a rainbow effect that shifts as the package moves.
When to choose it
Choose foil or holographic finishes when shelf impact matters: cosmetics, fragrance, gifts, holiday packaging, candy, trading cards, vape and cannabis-adjacent products, and limited editions. A single foil detail can make a simple box feel premium; a full holographic surface makes a bold statement and suits younger, playful brands.
Options
- Gold, silver and colored foil stamping on paperboard, kraft or rigid box wraps.
- Holographic foil stamping for a rainbow effect on a logo or pattern.
- Metallized board printed over with color, so the shine shows through.
- Holographic mylar bags and pouches.
- Holographic labels for jars, bottles and tins.
Pairing finishes
Foil looks strongest against a matte or soft-touch background. Combining foil with embossing gives a raised, metallic logo. Spot UV can add contrast next to foil areas.
Design tips
- Use foil on one or two focal elements; too much can look busy.
- Very fine lines and tiny text can fill in during stamping, so keep foil details bold.
- Supply foil areas as a separate layer in your artwork file.
- Metallic films can affect recyclability; check local rules if that matters to you.
