Electronics need packaging that holds parts firmly, survives shipping and looks clean on the shelf. A typical package combines an outer printed box, an insert that holds the device and accessories, and sometimes a sleeve. Accessories such as cables and cases often ship in hanger boxes or window boxes.
Styles that suit tech products
- Two-piece rigid boxes for premium devices with a lift-off lid.
- Sleeve boxes that slide over a tray for a clean reveal.
- Tuck end boxes for lighter accessories.
- Hanger boxes for peg displays in stores.
- Mailer and double wall boxes for direct shipping and heavier gear.
Materials and finishes
Rigid chipboard wrapped in paper gives a solid, premium feel. SBS paperboard suits retail cartons with sharp print. Corrugated board, including E-flute for thin walls and double wall for heavier products, adds strength. Inserts can be die-cut paperboard, corrugated or molded pulp, which many brands choose to reduce plastic. Matte lamination with spot UV is a popular clean look.
Design tips
Design the insert before the outer box: lay out the device, cable and charger, then size the box around them. Keep the front simple with a product image and name, and use the back for features and specifications. Electronics often carry regulatory marks, battery or safety notices and bilingual text in Canada; check current requirements for your product and leave room on the box. Plan a spot for a barcode and serial label.
How ordering works
Send the product and accessory dimensions, the style and the quantity. We reply with pricing and suggest board and insert type. Our designers can place your artwork on the dieline, and you approve a digital proof before print. Our production partner makes the packaging and ships it anywhere in the USA and Canada. If you sell several models, ask about one outer box size with different inserts to keep stock simple.
