Why belly bands are a smart packaging layer

A belly band, sometimes called a sleeve or wrap, is a strip of printed paper or card that goes around the middle of a product or box. It holds items together, carries the brand and product information, and leaves the rest of the product visible. Custom belly bands for packaging let small brands use plain boxes, jars or trays and still present a fully branded product on the shelf.

Kraft paper suits handmade soap, candles and natural goods, while white coated stock shows colorful designs and photography. Heavier card holds its shape around boxes, and thinner paper wraps soap bars and folded socks neatly. Custom belly bands for boxes can carry foil stamping or embossing for a premium gift look. Closures range from a simple overlap with adhesive to a tuck tab, which customers can slide off without tearing.

Use the front panel for the logo and product name, and the back or underside for ingredients, barcode and details. Because a band is narrow, keep the copy short. Custom belly bands for invitations and weddings often add a monogram or names in foil. For soap and food, check the labeling requirements for your product, since the band may need to carry ingredients or weights.

FAQ

Custom Belly Bands: questions answered

Still unsure? Ask a packaging specialist.

What is a belly band in packaging?

It is a printed strip of paper or card that wraps around the middle of a product or box. It carries the logo and product details while leaving the rest of the product visible, and it can hold several items, such as socks or invitations, together.

Can I use custom belly bands for soap?

Yes. Soap makers often use kraft or printed paper bands around bars, showing the scent, logo and ingredients. Labeling rules for soap and cosmetics vary, so check what your product needs to show before approving the proof.

How do I measure for a belly band?

Measure around the product or box where the band will sit, then add a small overlap for the closure. Also decide the band width. Send those measurements, or the product dimensions, and we lay out the band to fit.

Can belly bands be used for wedding invitations?

Yes. Personalized belly bands with names, a monogram or a date hold invitation suites together neatly. Foil stamping and textured papers are popular for weddings, and the digital proof shows each personalized version before printing.

How do I get pricing for custom belly bands?

Send the product size, band width, stock, closure, finishes, quantity and artwork through the quote form. A specialist replies with pricing and a suggested layout for your product, and you approve a digital proof before production begins.
